Takes first step towards establishing presence in South
New Delhi, September 25, 2008: Swedish luxury car maker Volvo Car India today announced its entry into the southern region with opening of its dealership in Hyderabad in partnership with Talwar Cars Pvt. Ltd. located at Road No 12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The dealership will be registered under the name Talwar Cars Pvt Ltd and will open the doors for the consumers in South India in the last quarter of 2008.
At the signing ceremony, Paul de Voijs, Managing Director, Volvo Car India said, “We are pleased to sign the dealership with Talwar Cars and expand our network in Hyderabad as South India is an important market for us. The expansion of our dealer network signals the importance of the Indian market to Volvo. We believe that India holds tremendous potential for our brand and want to make sure that we fully capitalise on the opportunities available while at the same time providing the best possible services for our customers."
Spread over an area of 300 square meters, the two showroom floors bring to life the Volvo brand values to the Indian customers. The showroom will have the same visual identity and design as other three Volvo dealers in India based on their programme - Volvo Next Face.
Commenting on Volvo’s association, Mr. Sunil Talwar, Managing Director, Talwar Cars Pvt Ltd, said, “We are glad to be associated with Volvo Car India. We hope to provide our customers with same quality of services that Volvo customers enjoy globally.”
Besides Hyderabad, Volvo has its presence in Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh. To tap the growing automobile market of the country, Volvo plans to expand its dealership network by 7-9 dealers during the next 12 months.
Talwar Group is headed by Mr. Sunil Talwar, Managing Director, Talwar Cars Pvt. Ltd. Since last 30 years, Mr. Talwar has been in the automobile business. He initially started the automobile business in the year 1975 and ventured into car segment in 1998.
